MATT BODDINGTON LL.B (Hons) (Director) runs Accountax and is responsible for all our Tax and Employment law consultancy and services. Matt is ex-Revenue, brings with him many years’ experience of employer compliance issues including PAYE audits and director problems.  Matt lectures nationwide on various contentious Tax and Employment Law matters and defends in the tax tribunals as well as employment tribunals and is an authority on CIS status disputes and CIS certificate refusals.  His recent victories include the First Word Software IR35 case.

DAVID HARMER LL.B (Hons) (Operations Director) has been with Accountax since April 2000, and is responsible for the company’s day to day operations.  He specialises in MSC rules and umbrella companies and heads up our specialist MSC and Umbrella team.  David has considerable experience in defending IR35, Agency Regs challenges and self employed status, including representing clients at the tax tribunals.  David provides seminars and training nationwide and his victories include the Sherburn status case.

SARAH GORDON (nee THOMSON) LL.B (Hons) (Senior Tax Consultant) specialises in CIS problems.  She has considerable experience in defending self-employed status, Agency Regs challenges and IR35 matters,  including representing clients at the tax tribunals.  Her recent victories include the Sherburn status case.

SARAH CARSTENS (nee RODGERS) MAAT ATT (Senior Tax Consultant) specialises in umbrella companies and CIS and has considerable experience in defending status, IR35 and technical tax matters.  Sarah also strengthens our MSC team.

SIÂN WOODS BSc ATT CTA joined us after many years' in private practice. She specialises in S660a and  technical tax enquiries.  She has a wealth of experience of defending IR35 and self-employed status, broad experience of practical tax consultancy, and strengthens our managed service companies team.

KYE BURCHMORE LL.B (Hons) has a background in law and has completed his Legal Practice Course. Kye specialises in umbrella company consultancy and MSCs and provides Status and IR35 consultancy.

NICOLA SMITH BA (Hons) ATT has several years of tax experience in 3 large accountancy firms. She adds depth to our technical tax expertise and also provides consultancy advice in the areas of status, IR35, and related problems.

DAN COBELLI LL.B (Hons) joins us from a firm of solicitors and has a background in law. Dan provides IR35 and Status consultancy and strengthens our agency and managed service companies team.

TYRA AKHTAR LL.B (Hons) ex Revenue, brings with her experience of Compliance and PAYE. Tyra specialises in IR35 and is heavily involved in training. Tyra also drafts contracts.

DAVID SMITH LL.B (Hons) CTA (fellow) is a former tax inspector with extensive experience of General and Special Commissioners appeals. He specialises in IR35 (and is the author of the Tolley’s IR35 text book) status disputes, contentious technical arguments and also lectures nationwide on the seminar circuit.

MARK TAYLOR LL.B (Hons), LL.M  (Operations Director of Accountax Employment Law)
Mark heads up the employment law team and is in charge of the day to day running of the division.  He has completed his Legal Practice Course and has extensive experience of handling personnel issues. He specialises in defending holiday pay claims and other contentious employment law disputes, including unfair dismissal, discrimination and TUPE.  Mark has successfully represented clients in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal. Mark also has a Masters degree in Employment Relations.

EMMA McMILLAN LL.B (Hons)  (Employment Law Consultant)
Emma specialised in employment law academically on both her Degree and Legal Practice Course.  She brings both this knowledge and her experience of training to our employment law advice team.  Emma is responsible for advising clients on all aspects of employment law and personnel issues including representing clients in the Employment Tribunal.

SARAH GORDON (nee THOMSON) LL.B (Hons) (Employment law Consultant)
Sarah is legally qualified having obtained a law degree with employment law as a specialism.  Sarah splits her role between senior tax consultant and the employment division representing clients in both forums.  Sarah provides advice and consultancy on employment law and personnel issues as well as representing clients in the Employment Tribunal.
